Kevin P. Guilbeau
Chief Executive Officer
Kevin P. Guilbeau is the Chief Executive Officer of H2Oil Energy Company, LLC (H2Oil). Mr. Guilbeau has over 34 years of oil and gas experience. Prior to founding H2Oil, Mr. Guilbeau was Executive Chairman of Glori Energy from October 2015 until December 2017. Prior to joining Glori, Mr. Guilbeau was President and CEO of Gulf Coast Energy Resources which he founded in 2010 and led from private equity start-up through growth via acquisitions and exploration until its sale in 2015. Prior to founding Gulf Coast Energy Resources, Mr. Guilbeau was Chief Operating Officer for LLOG Exploration Company form 2006 until 2009, with responsibility for leading all E&P operations in the Gulf of Mexico and onshore Gulf Coast. Earlier in his career, Mr. Guilbeau was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit for Dominion E&P, which during his 10-year tenure grew into a $4.7 billion business that was sold in 2007. Mr. Guilbeau began his career as a geologist with Shell Oil Company in 1983, where he held a variety of technical and leadership positions over a 15-year period. Mr. Guilbeau earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of New Mexico.
Sr. VP, Bus. Development & Land
Thomas (Tom) Holland is Sr. Vice President of H2Oil, LLC. Prior to founding H2Oil, Mr. Holland was Sr. VP, Operations & Development for Glori Energy, Inc. H2Oil is Mr. Holland’s third E&P startup, following a 25-year career with ARCO. At ARCO, Mr. Holland held a number of responsible positions in the company, the last of which was Vice President, Commercial for ARCO Permian, responsible for Land, Business Development, and World-Wide Crude Oil Marketing. Mr. Holland led the acquisition of the company’s significant position in the Sprayberry/Wolfcamp play in the Permian Basin, and its large Williston Basin leasehold position. After BP’s acquisition of ARCO in 2000, Mr. Holland, along with other members of the ARCO Permian management team, formed Westwin Energy, LLC, raising private equity capital to acquire and exploit oil in the Permian Basin. In 2005, he formed Petrus Exploration to focus on using 3D seismic to generate and sell prospects along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana. The company’s production was sold to an independent oil company in 2011. In 2010, he and three partners formed Liberty Resources, LLC in Denver to acquire and develop Bakken-Three Forks acreage in North Dakota. That company was sold to a public company in 2013. Mr. Holland holds a BBA (Petroleum Land Management) from the University of Oklahoma and completed the Seminar for Senior Executives in the Oil & Gas Industry from Southern Methodist University. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, and has served on the board of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association and several civic and charitable organizations.
Sr. VP, Engineering & Development
Tor Meling is Sr. Vice President of Engineering & Development at H2Oil, LLC. Prior to founding H2Oil, he was the Vice President of Reservoir Engineering for Glori Energy, Inc. Previous to Glori, Mr. Meling was Vice President of Global Powerwave Implementation for Wavefront Reservoir Technologies, an IOR technology company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Meling was instrumental in growing Wavefront’s business during the early adoption phase of their technology. Mr. Meling is an experienced oil industry executive with a very innovative and solutions focused approach to engineering. He has 28 years of US, Canadian and International industry experience from Amoco, BP, Wavefront and Glori in various engineering and management roles. At BP, Mr. Meling worked in several environmentally sensitive areas and won the prestigious Chairman’s Award for Health, Safety and the Environment in 2000. Health, Safety and the Environment have always been important considerations in his work and he was involved in multiple environmental remediation projects during his time with Wavefront, both in the US and internationally, removing below-ground industrial contamination, and was part of the Wavefront team that received the Group Achievement Award from NASA. Mr. Meling also won three BP Innovation Awards in the drilling, completion and logging realms, received two Innovation/Helios Award commendations associated with EOR and extending field life and authored/co-authored several technical papers and patents. He is a global expert on pulsed stimulation and pulsed injection for improved conformance in flooding projects and during well stimulations of both horizontal and vertical wells. A native of Norway, Mr. Meling holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger, Norway. He has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1988.
Paul R. Baker
Sr. VP, Operations
Paul R. Baker is the Senior Vice President of Operations for H2Oil Energy Company, LLC (H2Oil). Mr. Baker is an oil and gas operations leader with 40 years of experience in production, drilling, and completion operations, both in the United States and internationally. In the United States he has been responsible for leading the development of conventional and unconventional oil and gas plays in the Permian Basin, South Texas, Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Black Warrior Basin, Appalachia, and Michigan. Internationally he has developed and led production organizations in Southeast Asia, Asia and South America. Prior to H2Oil he served as VP Production and GM Onshore for W&T Offshore, Inc. Preceding W&T Offshore, he led the initial operations for Highmount Exploration & Production as COO. Highmount E&P was a new company formed from assets acquired from Dominion Exploration and Production where Paul was the Senior VP and GM for the Eastern United States Business Unit. Additionally, he has held senior leadership positions with Santa Fe Energy Resources, Devon Energy, and Bear Lake Energy. He earned his MBA from the University of Houston and a BSCE from Southern Methodist University.
